Dear Roo: Too Fast

I see this photo and suddenly I'm swept into the future ten years.

In ten years I'll get this look from you all day long.

I'll get this look and be told, "Geez, Mom. Quit it!" or "You're embarrassing me!"

You may give me this look a thousand times a day and you may even dislike me a little bit when you're thirteen but remember this, that once upon a time I got you to agree that you would never leave me and that you would always love me the best.

I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I am damn sure glad I did it... even if you look at me like I'm crazy.
