I’ve got to be honest with you; the post-baby body is not pretty.
Unless you’re some super star that can afford to transform your body as soon as you pop out that baby.
Or you’re blessed with super-fab genes and bounce back like a rubber band.
Me, not so lucky.
I either have crap genes or just crap eating habits.
Either way, my post-baby body is not hot.
Sure, I’ve got amazing looking boobs (what I really mean is that they are huge simply because I’m breastfeeding and in my mind huge boobs are hot), but if you look lower than the boobs you find the belly.
If you can’t tell, I’m not too happy about the belly either. So I started running again. I’ve been a runner since high school. So for years I was slender… not skinny because I have been blessed with hips.
And I miss being slender.
Oh, god how I miss it!
Back to the point, I started running again and while, yes, it is kicking my ass it feels good.
To me there’s nothing like getting out in the hot sun and pounding the pavement. I love the sting of sweat rolling into your eyes. I love how you ache all over afterwards. I love it all.
I’m doing what I can to control that horrible habit of eating I have. Of course salads are out because they make Turtle soooo gassy (figures I finally want to eat salads and it bothers the crap out of my baby). But I’m eating less and while I am indulging in soda daily, I’m limiting my intake of the liquid devil.
I don’t expect a miracle overnight, but I imagine that with time I will be back to a healthy weight and I will be happy with my post-baby belly… stretch marks and all.
