The Fever Returns

As you know, Roo was sick two weeks ago with a hell of a fever.

Today, my husband noticed that her forehead was hot and upon taking her temperature, noticed she had another fever.

It's not high as it was two weeks ago, but a fever is a fever.

And a worried parent is a worried parent.

The question we keep asking ourselves is: Why?

Why does she have a fever? Where did it come from?

It's not like we can ask her if she's sick. We can't ask her what's wrong. If we do, all she does is want her taggie or asks for an apple.

You definitely wouldn't think she was running a fever by looking at her.

But she is.

And we're worried... again.

Call your mother more often especially when Ava is sick! I know alot about fevers. Don't forget I was a hospice nurse and still have my memory, that is long term mermory!

The worry is so hard. It just makes me feel so heavy. Hopefully the fever passes quickly.

Cool baths with some soothing smelling bath stuff. Eucalyptus, mint, even throwing in a couple Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Tea bags into the bathtub will work. Then once you've soaked for awhile put Roo in too.

But if she isn't looking sick, that's a really good sign.

My pediatrician once told me that if we laid children's annual colds end to end, they would be sick from mid-September through April. So hang in there.

I feel for you. Sick kids are so hard to help. Especially those that can't express themselves. Just know you probably feel worse about it than she does.

Hope she feels better soon!

Bless your hearts! I'm so sorry that she has to be sick again and that you're worried.

I'll keep all of you in our thoughts and light some candles for you!

Fevers are scary. My daughter would get to 104 just from teething. Scared the crap out of me. We even took her to the ER the first time.
