One of my new favorite blogs Pennies in my Pocket is hosting a Self Esteem Saturday or Sunday event and I thought I'd participate!
Here is the info (taken directly from her blog): Assignment to you fabulous ladies: So today, turn the TV off from all those 'Hollywood magazine' type shows, put down that magazine that's harping on your out-of-date clothing and tell me something that has given you a higher self-esteem. That's right. Brag about yourself or share something that someone said nice about you or whatever makes you feel better about yourself. Take a break from pulling yourself down when you look at the mirror first thing in the morning. Nobody should look in the mirror first thing in the morning anyway.
Question of the Day What has boosted your self-esteem?
What really has boosted my self-esteem is my ability to run. Getting out on the pavement and going for a nice long jog helps me physically and mentally. When I'm out running, everything just melts away and I can see clearly. I'm not clouded by anything and it gives me the confidence to believe in myself.

Good idea. I've been really hard on myself this weekend bc I went shopping and realized I went up a pant size...so reading this helped!
Great post! And thanks for stopping by during the blogathon - love your blog!
Take care and have a smooth Sunday...

ooouuuu running? Not my idea of an ego builder - especially when my fat bod is screaming at me to stop the minute I start. But I'm sure it works for you.
Oh yeah-I thought of you the other night. I have the baby that I take care of for the weekend, and my heater was broken Friday night and my hubby was out of town. It was slightly cold in the house (60ish) and I was so worried about the baby that I ended up co-sleeping w/ her and then I realized it made us more bonded and I just LOVE her! I will def do that with my own kids someday. Especially if we adopt, it's proven to be helpful for transition and bonding.
I love the way running (well walking in my case)can clear the mind and give you time to think. How great that it gives you a self esteem boost.
First of all, I've always thought your blog is super sassy! Love it!
Thanks so much for participating in the first SES!! I'm so excited that you joined in! I love that running does this for you and I'm now pondering how I can exercise more. I walk almost every night, but I really want to do more. Exercise TOTALLY makes you feel tons better....thanks for the motivation!!
I'm posting the topic for SES for next weekend on Monday morning. I hope you join in again!

In the spirit of Self Esteem Day,...... GOOD FOR YOU!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!
I wish could like running, but I can't stand it! But more power to you, lady!
Actually all of my recipe are usually the kind that can be prepped ahead of time. For example-today's porkchops I had all set up for my hubby to pop into the oven tonight!
